Reclaiming OUR Country From Washington
Our founding fathers built a country on principles of democracy; Government OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people. Not special interest and career politicians. Similar to today's Washington, Great Britain ruled with taxation and regulation as its guiding principles. The defeat of the Red Coats allowed this country to be born and flourish. We are at a cross roads in our history. This revolution will not be won with muskets and cannons, but with voting pens and citizen engagement in government. I have watched election after election with the same rhetoric: "It's morning again in America" Ronald Reagan, "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow" Bill Clinton, "Yes America Can" George Bush, "Hope" "Yes We Can" Barack Obama. As a son of Greek immigrants who worked my way through medical school I know about hard work and sacrifice. As a father of 5 daughters I worry about tomorrow more than ever. I don't feel I am chosen or any more special than any other citizen of this once great country. I feel an obligation to move this country not in a new direction, but in an old direction. The direction of our founding fathers. They served tirelessly, yet did not take their unique opportunity to seize power. THEY SERVED their new nation and then resumed their place as working citizens and land owners of a new nation. WE MUST return to the principle of service to country. I will propose a platform of reforms that I believe will guide our nation back to prosperity, and return us to core values as our guiding light. I welcome the opportunity to share this vision with you!
